Privacy policy

The short version

• The only personal information we keep is a parent’s email address, and only when you give it to us: for a free printable, a story keepsake, or news of new activities after the Theory Test.
• We never save your child’s name, age, test answers or stories. The Theory Test and the Learner Permit run entirely in your browser.
• We don’t sell or share personal information, and the site has no ads, no tracking pixels and no cookies.

What we collect

A parent’s email address

There are three places on the site where you can type your email address: the keepsake form on the Bedtime Story Machine, the sign-up box after the Theory Test, and the free-printable form in each article. When you use one, we save your email address, which of the three forms it came from and the date. We use it to send you what you asked for, plus the occasional email about new printables and articles.

What we don’t collect

We never save your child’s name, age, test answers or stories. The Theory Test and the Learner Permit run entirely in your browser. Nothing a child types into this site is saved by us.

How the tools handle your child’s information

The Theory Test and the Learner Permit

Your child’s age, your answers and the first name on the permit are scored and drawn on the page, in your browser. They are never sent to us or saved anywhere, and they’re gone when you close the tab. The permit PDF is made in your browser too.

The Bedtime Story Machine

When you make a story, the choices you pick or type (the setting, the lesson, the sidekick and, if you pick them, the hero’s pronouns) go to Google’s Gemini service so it can write the story. Your child’s name stays in your browser and is added to the story on your screen.

We use the free tier of Google’s Gemini API. Under Google’s terms for that tier, Google may keep what is sent to it and the story it writes, use them to improve its products, and have people review them. Your child’s name is never part of what Google receives, but please don’t type anything personal into the other story fields.

We don’t save the choices or the story. If you ask for the printable keepsake, the setting and a short version of the sidekick go to fal.ai, which draws the picture. The picture comes back to your browser and we don’t keep it. Your child’s name is never part of that request. The keepsake PDF is made in your browser.

Who handles information for us

We use a small number of services to run the site. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.

Children’s privacy

AiWhizzkids is for parents and other adults. The tools are meant to be used by a parent with their child, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

The Theory Test and the Learner Permit keep your child’s age, answers and first name in your browser. The story tool adds your child’s name to the story on your screen and sends a stand-in name to Google instead.

If you think your child has sent us personal information, for example by typing their own email address into a form, email us at hello@aiwhizzkids.ai and we’ll delete it promptly.

How long we keep things

• Email addresses: kept while you’re subscribed. We delete an address within 30 days of an unsubscribe or a request to delete it.
• Story choices, stories and keepsake pictures: not stored by us. They exist only for the time it takes to write the story or draw the picture. Google (on the free tier described above) and fal.ai handle them under their own terms.
• Theory Test answers, your child’s age and the name on a permit: never reach us.
• Server logs: our host keeps short-lived request logs, such as IP addresses and error messages, so we can run and fix the site. Vercel deletes them automatically after a short period.
• Page-view counts: kept as totals, with no cookies and nothing that follows you to other sites.

Security

The whole site is served over HTTPS. Email addresses are stored in a database that only our own server can read, and the keys for every service above stay on the server, never in the page. Only AiWhizzkids has access to the list.

Selling and sharing

We don’t sell or share personal information, and the site has no ads, no tracking pixels and no cookies. We don’t sell, rent or trade email addresses, and we don’t share them with advertisers.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without them. If you follow a link to Etsy or Pinterest, those sites set their own.

Do Not Track

We don’t track visitors across other sites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to turn off. The site works the same way whether or not your browser sends one.

Your choices

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also write to hello@aiwhizzkids.ai at any time to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use your email address, we’ll email subscribers before it takes effect.
